Independence Day 3D (Movie) - Cancelled

Back in July we reported to you that a sequel was in the works for ID4, according to Dean Devlin. Super Hero Hype brings us word that 20th Century Fox has decided to cancel the project.

Although the re-release had been officially announced earlier this year, 20th Century Fox has cancelled plans for Independence Day 3D. 

The post-converted version of the 1996 film was intended to hit theaters on July 3, 2013. Starring Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum and Randy Quaid, the Roland Emmerich film is a loose re-telling of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds". The sci-fi actioner grossed over $800 million worldwide in its original run.
