Artist Refuses To Draw For Orson Scott Card

For those who don't know why, Card is a very vocal and politically active opponent of same-sex marriage rights. He was hired by DC to write one of the stories for a digital series entitled "The Adventures Of Superman", which raises the hackles of a lot of comic fans and people in the industry. Artist Chris Sprouse, who was going to do the art for Card's story, decided not to and issued the following statement (via USA Today):

It took a lot of thought to come to this conclusion, but I've decided to step back as the artist on this story. The media surrounding this story reached the point where it took away from the actual work, and that's something I wasn't comfortable with. My relationship with DC Comics remains as strong as ever and I look forward to my next project with them.
