Showtime Swallows "Chew", But Fails To Cough Up Cash

Showtime bought the options for "Chew" by Jeff Layman in March 2011. But, apparently, they've not paid the creator of the comic for the rights to adapting the series.

I think it's going to take nothing short of an act of God to get these mother fuckers at Showtime to pay us the CHEW option money.

Other people in the development process got paid by Showtime. Just not the creators. Priorities, I suppose.

Too bad that nothing's happening on the development front, as well as on the backend paying the creator of the series. "Chew" is a great title and one I'd love to see developed.
