Screencrush brings us word that the film, which just opened and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, is in fact the first part of a new trilogy. They quoted Sony Pictures as saying:The Amazing Spider-Man is the first installment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero’s journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents.The film, in its first night, brought in over $7.5 million US in its midnight showings!
