The Emerging Past (2011) - Premiere in NYC 5/1

In the tradition of Hitchcock ...comes a new psychological thriller from the producers of Lazarus: Apocalypse THE EMERGING PAST Director's Cut.

LOS ANGELES: Writer/Director and former Queens New York resident Thomas J. Churchill readies to unleash his film The Emerging Past. Churchill is very proud to finally unleash his true vision to all horror fans, “Call it a Director's Cut...call it a Recut...I call it pure horror, the way the film was meant to be. Horror fans should prepare for a movie along the lines of “The Exorcist” meets “The Shining.”
Church Hill Productions/Apothecary Entertainment, the company behind the upcoming retro zombie film LAZARUS APOCALYPSE, will WORLD PREMIERE at The New York City International Film Festival May 1st at the prestigious Anthology Film Archives, 32 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003 / (212) 505-5181. Tickets can be purchased on the NYCIFF website http://www.nyciff.com/the-merging-past-2015 or at the door.

The Emerging Past will include a brand new story arc, never before seen footage, and a new style that gives the film a more thrilling and compelling vibe. It’s darker, edgier, scarier than the original and most of all a true horror film. Insiders are stating “It looks like a Blumhouse studio film.” The film will also carry a haunting score by Jon Brummer (Lazarus Apocalypse) in the tradition of classic Hollywood films.

The soundtrack is sure to please music lovers with all new songs from recording artists "Sugar" Parks and The Massacre and Mike Pacheco of the MP Project (who will also be opening up for Quiet Riot on May 3 in New York). The soundtrack will be distributed by Apothecary Entertainment later this year.

A previous festival/preview version had a small release as a fan favorite at conventions and festivals. It won 6 awards as it played the circuit racking up two Best Pictures, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Song, and Best Trailer awards. But Churchill was never satisfied with that version. Taking a cue from George Lucas, Churchill insists “That version is now a collector’s item; never to be released again...ever.”

The star of the film, Krista Grotte, along with cast members Edward X Young, Mike Marino, Ray Capuana, Steve Dash, and writer/director Thomas J. Churchill will all attend the premiere. An event is also being planned for the West Coast before the Fall release of the film.

Synopsis: When you can't see the future you need to live for the past. Murder and mayhem surround Queens New York Tribune photographer, Pamela Garret (played by Krista Grotte, Lazarus Apocalypse, Hershel Gordon Lewis' The Uh-Oh Show, Brainjacked) after she is discovered taking a life altering picture of a sacrifice ritual. Her world suddenly becomes a jigsaw puzzle as she quickly needs to solve it and find somewhere safe to hide before her emerging past catches up with her. With no where to go, she turns to her coworker Dylan (played by Brooke McCarter, The Lost Boys, Trashin, The Uh-Oh Show) for help. As stress levels rise in her search for the truth her coworker spins the game into another level as he reveals just who he really is. As she soon realizes that the past is never where you left it...

The film was shot throughout Churchill's former Queens neighborhoods of Ridgewood, Glendale, Maspeth, Middle Village and Levittown, New York. His former parish Saint Matthias also has a featured role in this thriller.

This film also stars horror icon Stephen Geoffreys (Lazarus Apocalypse, Fright Night, 976-Evil, Heaven Help Us, At Close Range), Steve Dash (Friday the 13th Part 2, Nighthawks, Alone in the Dark), Edward X. Young (Sea of Dust, The Green Monster) Tony Moran (John Carpenter's Halloween, BEG), Mike Marino (Sleepless Nights, Lazarus Apocalypse) and Ray Capuana (Lazarus Apocalypse).

Trying to make the best of an unpleasant situation, they raid the mansion's wine cellar and throw a party. As the night creeps on, however, it becomes clear that someone--or something--has lied to get them in the house. It's not long before someone mentions that Spektor Island is supposed to be haunted. Of course, no one in the house believes in ghosts. At least, not until the first murder. Blood Was Everywhere (2011) - Watch It Online For Free

Before you watch it you can go and listen to our review in episode 179.

From the press release:
Blood Was Everywhere is now available to stream for free on Vimeo and YouTube. Simply search "#bwe4free" on either site to watch the independent horror film.
Vimeo streaming link: http://vimeo.com/105313694
YouTube streaming link: http://youtu.be/hyirW8wSyzA
The online premiere represents a brand-new director's cut of the film, including an all-new opening sequence and a blood-curdling alternate ending.
"We are artists and thinkers, not really business folk," writer-director Jason Torrey elaborates. "We wanted to make a kick ass, original slasher movie, the kind we would like to watch ourselves. For us, it's just about giving people the opportunity to see it. What better way than through free services like Vimeo and YouTube?"
In Blood Was Everywhere, a killer wreaks havoc on the lives of average people in a small Massachusetts town. Inspired by the classic slashers of the late ’70s and early ’80s, the film offers a chilling concoction of horror, thriller, mystery and character study.
Blood Was Everywhere's cast includes Paul Kratka (Friday the 13th Part III), Larry Holden (Batman Begins), Vanessa Leigh (Almost Human), Sean Sullivan (Murder University) and a number of upcoming actors, including Ashley Arnold, Kimberly Simone, Phil Ristaino, John Westcott and Dita Prenn.

Willow Creek (2013) - Release Announced

MPI Media Group and Dark Sky Films have announced the Blu-ray release of writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait's Willow Creek, starring Bryce Johnson and Alexie Gilmore as a young couple who find themselves face to face with a terrifying evil when they venture into the heart of Bigfoot country. The tension-packed horror film arrives on Blu-ray on September 9th.

Synopsis: Looking to make a splash with his research videos into the existence of Bigfoot, Jim (Bryce Johnson, Pretty Little Liars) and his skeptical girlfriend Kelly (Alexie Gilmore, Labor Day, God Bless America) take a camping trip to the mountains surrounding Willow Creek, California, a small town where famous footage of the legendary Sasquatch was filmed decades earlier. Jim believes Bigfoot exists and is intent on finding the very spot where the huge, hairy, man-like creature supposedly strode. But before long, Jim and Kelly are lost in the woods and discover that someone - or something - is stalking them. With each passing night bringing unknowable danger, the two must use all of their cunning to try to make it out of the forest alive.

Writer-director Bobcat Goldthwait takes a radical departure from his recent string of black comedies to create a film that shows there are still surprises and shocks to be had in the found-footage genre pioneered by The Blair Witch Project.

Brian Orndorf of Blu-ray.com said, "It's smaller in scope and horror ambition, which automatically makes it more enjoyable than most of its brethren, creating a mix of local color and camping disaster that's basic but frightfully effective." (Full review here.) In her review in The New York Times, Jeannette Catsoulis pointed out Goldthwait "engineers a static, almost wordless 19-minute shot inside a tent that generates more tension than many horror directors achieve with a swarm of Foley artists and a healthier budget. This canny exploitation of the power of silence is unnerving." Tom Huddleston of Time Out London called the film "a whole lot of jarring, juddering fun."

Special features include:

Commentary with Writer/Director Bobcat Goldthwait and Stars Alexie Gilmore and Bryce Johnson
    Deleted Scenes
Bryce Johnson's "The Making of Willow Creek"
