Star Wars: Rebels (TV) - The Machine In The Ghost

In “The Machine in the Ghost,” a special Star Wars Rebels short, the rebels’ Ghost starship is under attack by a wave of TIE fighters. Hera pilots the craft, while Kanan tries to blast the Imperials from the Ghost’s gunner. While they do evade and shoot down several TIEs, it’s up to astromech droid Chopper to finish the job – even if he’s reluctant to do so.

Scheduled to premiere in October 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, Star Wars Rebels will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Black Dynamite: Season One (TV) - Release Announced

Blu-ray.com and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are offering three members the opportunity to win a copy of Black Dynamite: Season One, signed by Carl Jones, Michael Jai White and Byron Minns. The 10-episode first season of the Adult Swim animated series is based on White, Minns and Scott Sanders' Black Dynamite (2009) and streets on July 15th.

Rick And Morty: The First Season (TV) - Bluray Release

Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have announced the Blu-ray release of Rick and Morty: The Complete First Season. The animated series is part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block and makes its Blu-ray debut on October 7th.

Official Synopsis: From comedic masterminds Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland comes Rick and Morty. Adult Swim's newest series follows the adventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez, who returns after 20 years to live with his daughter, her husband, and their children Morty and Summer.

Dragon Ball Z (TV) - Season 7 Bluray Release Announced

FUNimation Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Dragon Ball Z: Season 7 Uncut, which features episodes 195-219 of the classic anime series, presented in remastered high definition. The 4-disc Season 7 set streets on September 16th.

Official Synopsis: Seven years of peace have passed since the defeat of the monstrous Cell, and the Z-Fighters have enjoyed a return to normal life. Goku has eagerly continued his training in Other World, Krillin has gotten married, and Gohan has renewed his scholarly pursuits while attempting to navigate the pitfalls of high school. Two fresh new Saiyan faces have also appeared on the scene - Goku's son Goten, and Vegeta's son Trunks.

Now, the time has come for the Z-Fighters to reunite, as the new World Martial Arts Tournament is set to begin. The greatest warriors on Earth have come together for their chance to capture the title of the reigning champion, Mr. Satan - but behind the scenes, sinister forces are at work. An evil eye watches the competitors' every move, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. The action grows fierce on the tournament floor, but for the Z-Fighters, the real fight is only just beginning

Season 7 has undergone a frame-by-frame restoration to remove blemishes, tape marks and foreign bodies from the film. All three audio tracks have been re-mastered in the interest of noise reduction and superior sound quality, and the colors are bolder and more vibrant. Lastly, a precise shot-by-shot reframing of the entire series was done to create "a modern HD widescreen presentation."

The Blu-ray release of Season 7 includes episodes 195-219 presented in 1080p at a 16:9 aspect ratio. The set features Japanese audio and two English tracks: the U.S. English-language broadcast dub and a mix with English dialogue and Japanese music. Bonus content:

Attack On Titan: Season 2 (TV) - Bluray Release

FUNimation Entertainment will release Attack on Titan: Part 2 on Blu-ray this fall. Based on the Hajime Isayama manga of the same name, the next installment of the popular anime series arrives on September 23rd via standard and Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD combo sets.

Synopsis: Many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress. Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls, but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive. Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill or be devoured.

Attack on Titan: Part 2 features 1080p video, a English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround track, a Japanese Dolby TrueHD 2.0 mix, and English subtitles. Extras and Limited Edition exclusives have yet to be detailed.

Night Of The Living Dead: Origins 3D (2014) - Coming To Cannes

With a seemingly unquenchable appetite for zombie movies, movie-goers will get their fill in 2014 with Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D, a 3D animated reboot of the original 1968 horror classic.

The film features visual effects from The Graphic Film Company, Los Angeles, which relied on the iPi Soft iPi Motion Capture markerless motion capture software solution. The software’s ability to easily create massive amounts of zombie action and seamlessly integrate it with the studio’s complex workflow provided the filmmakers limitless creative freedom.

“There are a scant few examples of animated horror films, let alone ones that honor a classic like Night of the Living Dead, but this project is very special,” Michael Nikonov, iPi Soft's Chief Technology Architect says. "The fact that most of the film features motion capture, with a substantial amount created using iPi Motion Capture, stands as the best evidence our motion capture solution accelerates creativity easily and affordably."

Produced by noted Hollywood filmmaker Simon West (The Expendables 2, Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) and Jib Polhemus and directed by Krisztian Majdik and Zebediah De Soto, Night of the Living Dead: 3D Origins is a 3D animated (rarely seen in the R-rated horror genre) retelling of the 1968 George Romero-directed zombie classic.

The highly stylized film, with a look somewhere between 3D animation and a graphic novel, centers on a group of desperate survivors fighting to stay alive barricaded in an abandoned apartment building. Confined, cut off from the world, and under constant attack from the undead hordes closing in around them, the six main characters struggle to survive while also confronting their own sense of compassion and humanity.

The rebellion has begun. This Star Wars Rebels full trailer offers an extended look at the upcoming animated series.

Starring a small band of heroes -- Sabine, Kanan, Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper -- Star Wars Rebels is set in a time where the Empire rules through fear and shrouds the galaxy in darkness. This trailer offers many new glimpses at sequences from the show, including the starship Ghost chased by TIE Fighters; young Ezra watching as a Star Destroyer looms overhead; Stormtroopers marching; a zero-g fight between our heroes and Imperials; and Kanan, a secret Jedi, assembling his lightsaber and preparing for battle. It ends, however, with an Imperial officer reporting to the Inquisitor -- the Empire's Jedi hunter, seen and heard here for the first time.

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. The series, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.
