Comics and sci-fi fandom has never been bigger or more mainstream. Comic book adaptations saturate TV and movie screens, and more and more people attend comic book conventions every year. It's never been cooler to be a fan and express your passion for the things you love. And, one of the most visible expressions of that passion is cosplay. 

Cosplay is the act of dressing up as your favorite characters, using all the tools of creativity to become that character. Walking around cons today, you'll see a hugely diverse array of men and women, young and old, portraying the characters that they love in costumes that range from charmingly homemade to screen accurate high end replicas. 

Cosplay has never been bigger or more popular, leading many people to assume that it's a recent phenomenon. But, it's actually been around for over fifty years, and has been a key part of fandom since the very first comic con. We want to make a film that will tell the story of cosplay, from its origins in the early days of comic con, with some decidedly NSFW costumes, through the anime influenced 90s and ultimately to the mainstreaming of cosplay over the last ten years. 

We want to delve into this world and explore why this unique hobby means so much to so many.

Are these just random hallucinations or something more? Rational explanations get challenged by the similarities of the “shadow people” multiple subjects describe looming over them. Ascher, who has first hand knowledge of sleep paralysis, brings the full intensity of this experience to the screen while maintaining empathy and respect for his subjects. As the film unfolds, distinctions between the documentary and horror genres fade as do easy lines between reality and the imagination.

Halloween's Tony Moran The Subject Of Horror Icon Documentary

Tony Moran may not be a household name, but his face is an integral part of horror movie history. Moran portrayed Michael Myers in the final scenes of John Carpenter's Halloween, including the unmasked sequence. His life hasn't been the same since the influential film's release in 1978.

Insomniac Productions and Lock it Down Productions are excited to announce Horror Icon: Inside Michael's Mask with Tony Moran and release the official poster artwork.

The independent documentary gives viewers a rare look at the life of a genre celebrity. Co-directors David Langill and Jordan Pacheco were given unprecedented access to Moran's life for the project. From horror conventions to home life and everything in between, nothing was off limits.

The film features special appearances by Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Dee Wallace (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), Andrew Bryniarski (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Debbie Rochon (Tromeo and Juliet), Jonathan Tiersten (Sleepaway Camp), John Dugan (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Timothy Patrick Quill (Army of Darkness), Vernon Wells (Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior) and more.

The Last Of The Unjust (2013) - Release Announced

Eureka Entertainment announced today the theatrical release of THE LAST OF THE UNJUST [ LE DERNIER DES INJUSTES ] in the UK & Eire. Director Claude Lanzmann's follow-up to his landmark Shoah, moves between 1975 and 2012, detailing Lanzmann's mid-'70s Rome interviews with Benjamin Murmelstein, the last President of the Jewish Council in the Theresienstadt ghetto, and the filmmaker's own return to the location 37 years later - providing an unprecedented insight into the genesis of the "Final Solution".

THE LAST OF THE UNJUST [ LE DERNIER DES INJUSTES] will be be released in the UK & Eire on 9 January 2015, to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and the UK Blu-ray premiere of Shoah later in the month.

SYNOPSIS

1975. In Rome, Claude Lanzmann filmed Benjamin Murmelstein, the last President of the Jewish Council in the Theresienstadt ghetto, the only "Elder of the Jews" [according to Nazi terminology] not to have been killed during the war. A rabbi in Vienna, following the annexation of Austria by Germany in 1938, Murmelstein fought bitterly with Adolf Eichmann, week after week for seven years, managing to help around 121,000 Jews leave the country, and preventing the liquidation of the ghetto.

2012. Claude Lanzmann, at 87 - without masking anything of the passage of time on men, but showing the incredible permanence of the locations - exhumes these interviews shot in Rome, returning to Theresienstadt, the town "given to the Jews by Hitler", a so-called "model ghetto", but a ghetto of deceit chosen by Adolf Eichmann to dupe the world. We discover the extraordinary personality of Benjamin Murmelstein: a man blessed with a dazzling intelligence and a true courage, which, along with an unrivalled memory, makes him a wonderfully wry, sardonic and authentic storyteller.

Through these three periods, from Nisko in Poland to Theresienstadt, and from Vienna to Rome, the film provides an unprecedented insight into the genesis of the Final Solution. It reveals the true face of Eichmann, and exposes without artifice the savage contradictions of the Jewish Councils.

Presented by Walter Kronkite, this classic overly skeptical but still important to research one-hour documentary includes an interview with a 32-year old gum-chewing Carl Sagan. Although his presentation skills aren't quite refined at this point (spit out the gum, Carl!), the early seeds of his scientific skepticism are quite evident!

GMO OMG (2013) - Release Announced

MPI Media Group has announced the Blu-ray release of director Jeremy Seifert'sGMO OMG, a documentary about genetically modified organisms, the state of the world's seed supply and corporate-controlled foods. The film arrives on Blu-ray on July 22nd.

Official Synopsis: Filmmaker and concerned parent Jeremy Seifert (Dive!) goes in search of answers about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and how they affect children, the health of the planet and freedom of choice. Spurred to action by his 6-year-old son's questions about seeds, Seifert begins a one-man investigation into the state of the world's seed supply; an essential resource in a world of increasing populations and rising food shortages. Seifert's journey takes him to Haiti, Paris, Norway, and even the front door of agri-giant Monsanto, the largest provider of GMOs in the United States, as he seeks to reveal who controls the future of our food.
